The USGS published a final 2025 list with 60 minerals. Any non-fuel minerals or mineral materials that are essential to a country's economy, national security, or key technologies, but whose supply chains are vulnerable to disruption

The US has limited active large-scale production for many critical minerals (e.g., heavy reliance on imports for lithium, rare earths, graphite, etc.), but there are key operating mines, expansions, and advanced development projects. Mining types vary by mineral and deposit in California (REE), Navade(Lithium), Arizona (Copper), Georgia (Heavy Mineral Sand).
US production is growing due to policy support (e.g., FAST-41 permitting, loans, Defense Production Act), but it remains small compared to demand and global leaders.
With over 18 mines successfully developed in the last 10 years, CPRM continues to build powerful momentum. We are proud to announce the launch of five exciting new strategic partnerships within the next 14 months — spanning both the Critical Minerals and Industrial Minerals sectors.
